MRO PROFILE: Skycharter- Abbreviated from an article featured in Aviation International News (AIN):
Founded in 1968 by the legendary Irv Shoichet, Skycharter offered FBO services, charter, pilot training, aircraft sales and maintenance. To-day, Skycharter is headed by Irv's son, Richard who operates similar FBO services, charter, aircraft sales, management of aircraft and has a maintenance facility which includes an avionics shop, proprietary maintenance tracking system, a wide range of ground support equipment and a diverse network of associations with both AME's and regulators. Our capabilities include full avionics line service, including instrument repair. "Skycharter has the in-house capability to perform all avionics services from 24-month pitot-static calibrations, through line service defects to annual cockpit voice recorder intelligibility checks."

Skycharter is experienced in a wide range of aircraft, including most corporate models from smaller turboprops to larger cabin, transcontinental aircraft. It can house aircraft up to the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 series in its heated hangar, a significant benefit considering Great Lakes winters. Personalized and excellent service was the company philosophy which made it a point of pride to provide peace of mind to every customer.

Wings Magazine - Waypoint: All in the family:
"At Toronto's Skycharter, another father/son combination have made their mark: Richard and Irving Shoichet. Richard now runs the show at this popular FBO since his father's passing a few years ago. Under his leadership, the FBO and hangars so long associated with the north end GA side of YYZ have undergone upgrades and improvements.

Skycharter was founded in 1968 by Richard's father, entrepreneur and airline transport pilot Irv Shoichet. Irv was definitely a trendsetter. By employing the most experienced people, using the latest aircraft and maintaining them to top standards, the Skycharter fleet became the largest privately owned fleet in Canada at the time, numbering 11 executive jet aircraft. Irv had marketing savvy; all of the aircraft and hangars were clearly identified with clean, bright, white paint and orange banding and distinctive company logo. While this may seem common today, such was not the case when Irv was getting started."

Skycharter featured at the 2011 NBAA (National Business Aviation Association) in Las Vegas:
"First-time exhibitor Skycharter Ltd., a privately owned fixed-base operator(FBO) located at the north end of Pearson International Airport (CYYZ) in Toronto, Ont., was represented by Carla Libralato, Sales and Marketing Manager, and Karolina Baszak, Sales and Marketing/Customer Suppprt. Skycharter, which has been on the field at CYYZ for 43 years, has obviously built a solid reputation within some sectors of the industry: this full service FBO and aircraft management, maintenance and charter services' company was named the Corporate Aircraft Association's preferred Toronto FBO for the third year in a row, as voted by members of the association."
